At the Beach with Tiddly Inks

Wryn at the Beach (4)

Oh boy I’ve had a very tiring day, but not actually achieved a lot. My Little Girl is teething and has cried and cuddled a lot, but I can’t complain as I love cuddles.

I’m probably up later than I should be (its 1am here) but I wanted to get this posted in peace and quiet and if I’m on cuddle duty again tomorrow posting this one handed may not be quite so simple!

The other week when I was away on holiday I took my ProMarkers and a host of images with me to do some colouring in. This gorgeous Tiddly Inks image Wryn Beach Babe was one of them and I finally sat down Saturday afternoon and put this little card together…

Wryn at the Beach (5)

I created a card with a little scene the other day, using plain card and papers, so I wanted to give it another go with patterned papers and I’m pleased with how it turned out.  My (very honest) 3 year old said ‘Mummy that’s a pretty sun in the sky’ so it if he likes it can’t be half bad, lol!

Supplies:

Pink & Sparkly at Sarah Hurley

Pink & Sparkly New Baby Card (7)

A new challenge has just started over on the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog and our theme this month is…

Pink & Sparkly

I’ve used papers from Sarah's All Sewn Up A5 Paper pack along with the Baby Feet Clear Stamp set to create this very pink and a little bit sparkly 'New Baby' card.

I have mat and layered Sarah’s papers on a mix of plain pink and pearlescent pink card and added some doodling with a black fine line pen. The stars and the Giraffe have been stamped onto the same pink pearlescent card and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I’ve also added some glitter glue some gems and some thread and a sentiment.

There is tons more inspiration from the rest of the DT some pop over to the challenge blog and take a look.

A Day at the Seaside

Unfortunately the blog title is where I would like to be right now and not where I am. We certainly haven’t had many days warm enough to visit the beach and today is no exception as it’s been rather dull and overcast.

The blog title is also about my card for this weeks Less is More challenge, which is ‘Sand’.

I had some scraps out on my desk and some new card blanks I picked up from Anna Maries Designs on my trip to the Sincerely Yours Show in Portsmouth on Sunday. So it would have been silly not to have a little play. Here is my effort….

Beach Card (6)

I cut an aperture into the front of my card blank and placed strips of card behind it to make the sand, water and sky. I doodled a few birds in the sky and used a mask, ink duster and yellow ink to create the sun. The waves were doodled with a Quickie Glue Pen and covered with clear glitter. Lastly I added a Paula Pascual for Personal Impressions sentiment using Coffee Bean Brilliance Ink and a little boat made from scraps of card cut freehand with some scissors.

Now to me it seems CAS but I’m not sure whether it has enough white space, let me know what you think.
