Whatzup Dog!

Whatzup Dog Birthday Card Closeup

Morning All. Hope everyone is looking forward to the Easter break, I know I am. Things have been a bit hectic round here since Christmas so it will be nice to have a few days rest with Family. We’re spending a couple of days with the In-Laws and then a couple of days with my parents, sounds busy but the Grandparents amuse the little ones for a bit so it gives me and Hubby a little peace and quiet :-)

I have a card to share today to share that I made a little while ago (it was the end of last year) using one of my favourite Whimsy Digi Stamps (one of many in fact). He’s called Whatzup Dog and he’s from the fabulous Crissy’s Digis…

Whatzup Dog Birthday Card (2)

I’ve used my ProMarkers to colour the image and teamed it up with card and papers from my stash. The paper was a magazine freebie but from so long ago I can’t remember which magazine or which make. The stars have been cut from paper and felt and are a Sizzix Framlits die set. The sentiment is from a Paula Pascual Personal Impressions set. And to finish some ribbon, glitter Alpha stickers, Card Candi and a button and twine.

Ribbon and Lace at PCJ

My Fair Lady Birthday (4)

Monday Morning again…Time is flying so fast at the moment, little Emily is  already 10 weeks old and it doesn’t seem five minutes since I was in labour!Anyhoo, back to the real point of my post and it’s to let you know that we have a new challenge in progress at Paper Crafting Journey and this time our theme is….

Ribbon and/or Lace

We are lucky enough to be sponsored by the fabulous Sassy Studio Design and I used the gorgeous My Fair Lady

My Fair Lady Birthday (6)

My image has been coloured with ProMarkers and I’ve chosen to go with ribbon. I’ve used a really froufrou ribbon to match the frilly parasol in the image. I’ve recycled the ribbon from one of my birthday presents and it already had the thread along the top (think it may be called Pull Ribbon) so it was really easy to ruffle.

I used a large Go Create die to create the card blank and I’ve also used brown card, First Edition Love Letters Paper Pad, Sizzix Framlits Tag Dies, a sentiment from Personal Impressions and some Pearls.

Don’t forget to head over to the PCJ blog and see the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT.

On the Move at Pink Gem

Chloe on Swing Birthday Card (3)

Morning all, hope those of you here in the UK with heavy snowfall are safe and well. Luckily here on the South Coast we have missed the snow but it has been very wet, grey and miserable….I’m longing for some sunshine! It doesn’t even need to be warm just some crisp cold sunshine would be good.

This week it’s Team Gems turn to post a challenge card over at A Gem of a Challenge and Kelly has set the theme of...

On the Move

We can’t wait to see how you interpret this one, will you use an image of something that moves, a moving element on your card, or something else…see how creative you can be.

I have used the very adorable Chloe on Swing

Chloe on Swing Birthday Card (8)

I have coloured Chloe with my ProMarkers and a touch of white pen and she is  swinging freely in the centre of my card! Papers are from MME Nostalgia 6x6 pad. Plain card (mostly Core’dinations) is from my scraps drawer. Sentiment is 'Magical Day' clear stamp also from Pink Gem Designs. I’ve used various dies…Circle Nesties, X-Cut Square Parenthesis, CC Cutters Leaves, Die-namics mini rolled roses, Memory Box Puffy Clouds and QuickKutz corners. A Kars Starburst punch and a sprinkle of pearls to finish.

The challenge will end at 6pm on 29th March, so please hop across to the A Gem of a Challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have created and while you are there join in with us.

Anything but a Card at PCJ

Punk Lolly Door Hanger (10)

Oops I think Baby Brain has got the better of me as I forgot to share with you the new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey (sorry Wendy). Don’t worry though you still have a few days left to enter as the challenge doesn’t end until Wednesday. Our theme this time is….

Anything but a Card

We are lucky enough to be sponsored this challenge by the fabulous Paper Shelter and I used the gorgeous Punk Lolly to make a door hanger…

Punk Lolly Door Hanger (1)

I started by painting a plywood door hanger with green paint, followed by crackle glaze and then pink paint. I then covered the the door hanger with PVA glue and stuck on the die cuts. When that was dry I gave it another coat of PVA glue to seal the whole piece. To this I added a piece of patterned paper (from an old DCWV mat stack), pearls, flowers, pompom trim, glitter glue, die cut felt letters and lastly my cut out image.

Don’t forget to head over to the PCJ blog and not only see the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT.

Stitching at Whimsy

KKD Ari & Toby Birthday Card (2)

Morning all, hope the weather is ok where you are! We actually have blue sky and sunshine here on the South Coast today and it sure does make a difference to the mood.

Crafting is still a slow process at the moment as I can only squeeze in little short bursts in between feedings and trying to keep on top of the housework. So I’ve been having a play with digital papers as It’s something I can do one handed on the laptop while feeding Emily. I decide on my layout and resize them all to the right size (using MS Word) so that once printed and cut they are ready to glue together and my layout is complete.

Anyhoo enough waffle, it’s time for a new challenge over at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge and the theme this month is…

Real/Faux Stitching

I’ve used one of the gorgeous new digis that was released 1st March Ari & Toby from StampArt by Kathryne and some fabulous digital papers from Michelle R Designs - Shabby Chic Papers

KKD Ari & Toby Birthday Card (3)

I actually attempted to use my sewing machine but it all started going horrible wrong so I gave up with the thread and just used it to pierce the holes, which I later joined together with a blue fine liner.

My image has been coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and cut out with Sizzix Framelits dies (I’m loving the shape of these at moment). The papers are from Whimsy: Michelle R Designs - Shabby Chic Papers and the blue card is from my stash. The sentiment is from a Paula Pascual Personal Impressions set and a few finishing touches with Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Glitter Glue, Gems and a few paper flowers.

This month our prizes are…first winner:

Second winner:

And third and final winner:

A Mystery Rubber Stamp

Please hop across to Whimsy Inspirations Challenge to see what the other designers have created and to check out the challenge rules.

Here is some inspiration using another of March’s gorgeous new Digi’s released by Whimsy Stamps.

This is the adorable Happy Little Bunny from StampArt by Kathryne  and the fabulous Daffodil Blossom Papers from Michele R Designs….

KKD Happy Little Bunny (3)

The gorgeous little bunny has been coloured with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. The image has been cut out with a circle Nestie and mounted onto a Picot Edge Circle diecut. The sentiment is a small tag stamp that came free with a magazine and the swirls are Lili of the Valley clear stamps. All other items (flowers, pearls, card, etc,) are from my stash.

Flowers at A Gem of a Challenge

Sitting Chloe Mother's Day Card (1)

Before I get to this weeks challenge, I just wanted to say if you are a reader of Papercraft Essentials you will see my first article, since winning Papercrafter of the Year back in December, on page 34 of the new issue. When I got my copy yesterday I was so excited and spent the rest of the day with a grin stretching from ear to ear. I created 5 cards using Studio Calico Wood Veneers and seeing how the cards have been photographed and how the final article looks is the most amazing feeling.

Anyhoo, back to the point of the post… It’s Team Gems turn to post a challenge card this week over at A Gem of a Challenge and Helen is our host. She has chosen the theme of...

Floral Frenzy

I have used the adorable Sitting Chloe to  make a Mother’s Day card for my MIL…

Sitting Chloe Mother's Day Card (4)

I have coloured Chloe with my ProMarkers and a touch of white pen. My patterned paper came from my scrap pile and is half of a left over double sided 12x12 sheet of Echo Park Paper. Matted onto some pink card and some scraps of teal Core’dinations card. I also used a flower embossing folder (sorry can’t remember the make) and lot’s of dies…Joy Crafts 5 Petal Flower, CC Designs 5 Petal Flower, CC Designs Leaves, MFT Die-Namics Double Scallop Border and a set of Nesting Sizzix Tag Framelits that I picked up last Sunday at the Make-It Craft Show in Farnborough, the sentiment is from a Magazine Freebie and the flower centres and pearls are from my stash.

The challenge will end at 6pm on 15th March, so please hop across to the A Gem of a Challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have created and while you are there join in with us.

Lastly I just wanted to say ‘Hello’ to my new follower and sorry if I am being a bad blogger at the moment but as I mentioned before I am stopping by your blogs while I’m breastfeeding Emily but leaving comments is a little trickier with only one hand ;-)

Birthday Bear

Pink Gem Valentine Bear Card Close Up

Good Morning! Hope you are all having a crafty weekend! Sorry for the sporadic posting at the moment, but having a Newborn again is quite tiring and poor baby Emily is suffering from Baby Reflux which has been a little distressing for us. I’ve been trying to do just a little crafting everyday to keep me relaxed but when I craft I don’t have time to blog and vice versa, so sorry if some of my posts seem a little ‘short and sweet’ for the time being.

Anyhoo enough waffle and to the point…. I have today shared my first card over on the ‘Gems of Inspiration Blog’. My Mum celebrated a very special Birthday last week and as I love my Mum loads I wanted to use Valentine Bear & Sentiment to make a Birthday card, showing hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day! I’ve also used Janet’s latest digi papers Lemon Drizzle

Pink Gem Valentine Bear Card (2)

The image has been coloured with my ProMarkers and matted and layered onto a selection of the papers from the Lemon Drizzle kit. I have also used MFT Flower dies, MFT By the Letter dies, Memory Box Parker Number Dies, Stickles Glitter Glue and sequins/gems from my stash.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
