Happy Bunting

MCG Happy Birthday Bunting (1)

Good morning. I can’t believe its the last day of April today, but on a plus note I hope we are waving goodbye to the April Showers! We seem to have had a little too much rain recently, although it is good for the vegetables the children and I are growing in the garden :-)

I thought I would share this quick little card I made using a set of digis from Moon Cookie Gallery, the set is called Happy Bunting and is available from Whimsy Stamps: MCG Happy Birthday Bunting (3)

I used to Word to layer up two rows of bunting and the sentiment. I wanted to give a feel of depth so I made the back row of bunting smaller and changed both to gray so that I could then colour them to make the back row look further away. And just a bit of Wink of Stella as well (I think I’m addicted!).

Supplies:

  • Image: Happy Bunting from Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • Card: Neenah Solar White Card, Navy Card and Pale Blue Swiss Dots
  • Embellishments: Wink of Stella Clear Brush Pen and Viva Decor Pearl Pen

This months theme is stitching and I have had a play with another bold (and large) background paper from January’s  A Few of My Favourite Things Kit.  Here is my card…

Girls go fishing too…

KKD Marie (4)

Hello. Hope you all had a great Easter Break. We visited family and after quite a hectic weekend felt like a little chill out when we got home this evening.  So we put our feet up with a takeaway and a movie. Hence I’m a little late posting today.

Just wanted to show a little more of the card I shared over on the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge today. This card uses Marie from StampArt by Kathryne.

KKD Marie (3)

If at first you don’t succeed…

This is my second try at this weeks Less is More challenge. It’s one layer week and my first card didn’t quite work. This is my second attempt…

Same stamps as before (from Chocolate Baroque) although the sentiment is different but from the same set. First I stamped the sentiment using Archival Black ink and the shadow using London Fog Memento ink. This time I stamped the flower stems in Rosebud Memento and second stamped to get the shadow.

Shadow Stamping

I found time this evening to create a couple of cards for the current challenge at Less is More. It’s one layer week and the challenge is to use shadow stamping. Here is my first attempt…

The stamps are from Chocolate Baroque and I’ve used a mix of inks. The sentiment is stamped in Archival Black, the flower stems in Cranberry Adirondack and the shadows on both are Memento London Fog.

I felt the stems looked a little naked and disjointed from the sentiment so I added the button and bow. Now I’m not so sure….maybe it was better before…ho hum!

Rose Bunny Rabbit

Rose Bunny Rabbit (2)

A very early start for me as my little girl (15 months) has only just got her first tooth and is teething really badly. She has been awake on and off most of the night as I think most of the teeth are now coming through at the same time :-(

While I’m up (and have a few minutes peace) I wanted to share my creation for the latest challenge that started yesterday over at Jellypark Friends and our theme this time is:

Happy Easter

I’ve used an adorable image Rose Bunny Rabbit to make an Easter gift for my little girl. It only has a few little chocolate in it as she is bit young to have a big egg, but she does like a little treat….don’t we all?

Rose Bunny Rabbit (1)

The basic shape is a tent card but I haven’t sealed the top and I made a little cellophane bag for the inside. I have used eyelets and ribbon to tie it shut so that it can be used over and over as a little treat bag.

Supplies:

  • Image: Rose Bunny Rabbit from Jellypark
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: First Edition 6x6 ‘Spring Drop’ Paper pad
  • Card: DCWV Textured Card, Papermania Kraft card and Crafters Companion Classic Crest Solar White Car
  • Stamps: Alpha stamps and ‘Happy Easter’ Sentiment
  • Dies & Punches: EK Success Border Punch
  • Embellishments: Paper Flowers, Ribbon, Eyelets, Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen and Stickles Glitter Glue
